Follow up on ICE announcement: Good News!

We are following-up on our message last week regarding the ICE / SEVP Broadcast Message.

We are very pleased to see media reports that ICE and the Trump Administration have rescinded the new guidance, meaning that they have canceled their new requirements for international students enrolling in Fall Quarter. This is good news!

You can see these reports in many news sources. A couple are below:

Although news reports say that schools can return to the guidance issued in March, ICE / SEVP has not officially notified schools of the cancellation and what it means for students. We are waiting to receive this official message before we provide students with additional guidance for Fall Quarter. We will contact you again once we have this information.

We applaud the Seattle Colleges chancellor, Dr. Shouan Pan,  and our colleagues across the district who assisted the International Programs Division, worked closely with US legislators, and gathered information to support the legal action that pushed-back against these decisions. They have done much to help our international students.

If you have any questions, please contact our office. We will be in touch with you again as soon as we have official confirmation from SEVP on this change.

Sincerely,

International Program
