Recognize and Encourage Scholarship
Join our campus's honor society. Seattle Central College's Alpha Chi Zeta chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is one of more than 1,300 chapters of this International organization. It offers its members many personal and academic growth opportunities through its weekly meetings, service projects, and leadership training.
Eligibility Requirements
To become a member of PTK’s Alpha Chi Zeta Chapter, students must meet the following criteria:
- GPA: A cumulative college-level GPA of 3.3 or higher.
- Credit Hours:
- For degree-seeking students, at least 12 completed credits (100-level or above).
- For certificate-seeking students, at least 6 completed credits (100-level or above).
Please Note- You're welcome to join our chapter Meetings, Honors In Action committee, College Project committee, or any events we organize on campus, whether you're a PTK member or not.
How to Apply
If you meet the eligibility requirements, please complete the membership registration form. Once your registration has been processed, you will receive an invitation from PTK headquarters via email.

Chapter Meetings: Every Tuesday 1-2 PM at BE4106
Chapter Meetings are open to all students. You don't have to be a PTK member to join our meetings or events. We meet every Tuesday from 1-2pm at BE4106.
Opportunities & Committees
At PTK, we believe in giving our members the chance to gain hands-on experience and make a difference. Here are some of the exciting opportunities currently available to get involved:
1. College Project: Clothing Donation Center
We’re excited to announce our collaboration with Dress for Success to open a Clothing Donation Center at Seattle Central College. This community-driven initiative is set to launch on February 26. By donating professional clothing, you help support students in need and provide them with the tools to succeed in their careers.

2. Social Media Committee
If you have a passion for content creation, marketing, and social media management, this committee is for you! Gain hands-on experience and develop skills that will help you in your future career or transfer process. Help us share the great work we’re doing with the world!

How to Apply
If you meet the eligibility criteria, we invite you to become a member by completing the Membership Registration Form. Once registered, you'll receive an official invitation from PTK headquarters via email.
Weekly:
- Every Tuesday:
- Odd weeks: 1 on 1 with Monica from 1-3 PM (every officer 30 min)
- Even weeks: Workshops
- Every Wednesday:
- College project: 1-2 PM
- Every Thursday:
- Officer meetings: 1-2 PM
- HIA meeting: 3-4 PM
Months:
January: focus on promoting PTK; redecorated PTK boards across SAM & BE building; prepare induction ceremony (material to purchase, script in ptk.org, agenda); space availability/clothing cleaning/buy necessities for opening; induction ceremony.
February: Have 30-50 people come to each of our workshops; Clothing donation center grand opening 100+ people come/give out 100+clothes;
March: Spring Break PTK Trip: 3/27-3/31. Trip Form.
April: catalyst; hiring starts for next year (everyone who got hired NEEDS to join our officer meetings to know the system, make commitment a big part of our rubric when we selecting officers);
May: events that combine our workshop skills (maybe some kind of competition); unity fair;
Jun: induction; prom dance.
