Dear 2020 Graduates

I want to give a huge congratulations to all for all that you have accomplished against all odds. You have persisted through some of the toughest quarters our college has ever seen and you deserve to be celebrated.

As you know, due to concerns about COVID-19, our 2020 in-person commencement was canceled. But the celebration is still in order and I invite you to participate in the following ways to recognize your achievement:

Seattle Central Graduate Celebration Parade

Thursday, June 25, 2020, 1 to 4 p.m. (original commencement date) | Harvard Garage Rooftop

RSVP is strongly recommended

  1. We invite you to walk or drive up to receive a graduation gift including a special cord for the class of 2020, as well as cheers from staff and faculty! Feel free to wear regalia if you have ordered it. Social distancing will be enforced.
  2. Order regalia – Though there will not be a formal commencement ceremony, you can still order regalia for photos and to use if you decide to walk in 2021. Please note that all regalia orders will be done through North Seattle College.
  3. Check out the Commencement Kudoboard for warm messages from our community cheering you on as you take your next steps. Share with us your plans for after commencement and words of wisdom to your peers.
  4. Look forward to a Commencement in a Box coming to you shortly after Commencement, no later than August – which will include your Diploma Cover, a commemorative booklet with your name among the Seattle Colleges class of 2020, and more items to help you celebrate!

Thank you all for making us so proud! I wish you the very best in your next steps, and look forward to welcoming you back to the Seattle Central community as alumni.

Please reach out Emily Thurston on our planning team if you have any questions about graduation celebrations this year.

In service,

Dr. Sheila Edwards Lange

President
