Katie Wallace

Katie joins Seattle Central as an educator and former program manager with 16+ years of experience working in public high schools, nonprofits and higher education in Seattle. As a Korean-American adoptee growing up in the PNW, she’s passionate about identity, positionality, and racial justice. Katie studied journalism and Spanish at the University of Oregon and received her Master’s in Teaching from the University of Washington. After teaching high school Spanish in Seattle Public Schools for eight years, Katie transitioned to the University of Washington where she managed Undergraduate Community-Based Internships (UCBI) and led programming for South Seattle Huskies at Othello-UW Commons.

Outside of her daily work, Katie is a Senior Counselor and keynote speaker with the Association of Washington Student Leaders (AWSL) and serves as Board Vice President for Sports in Schools. She loves baseball and ballet, and she can often be found at T-Mobile Park or enjoying the great outdoors with her chocolate lab, Moose.
